Reporting a Crime

Reporting Crimes or Suspicious Activity

Victims or witnesses of a crime should contact the Georgetown University Police Department as soon as they are aware that a crime has been or is being committed. A crime or suspicious activity may be reported in person at the GUPD station on the ground level Village C (West Wing) or by calling the GUPD office at 202-687-4343.

Anonymous Tips Reporting

Members of the campus community may report crimes on a voluntary, confidential basis by requesting to remain anonymous by calling the non-emergency line at 202-687-4343. Another method of anonymous reporting is the online anonymous tip form.

*** Anonymous Tip Reporting is not monitored in real time.***

Please call 202-687-4343 or used the LiveSafe app for real-time or in-progress crimes or suspicious activity.

Bias Related Incident Reporting

Any member of the University community can make a report about an alleged bias related incident or hate crime by calling the Georgetown University Police Department at (202) 687-4343 or through the campus bias incident reporting system.

Threat Assessment Reporting

Any member of the Georgetown University community—students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, or University neighbors—can report a concern if they become aware of threatening behavior or are worried about potential violence to someone at Georgetown or to the university in general. The earlier that the Threat Assessment Program knows about a threatening or potentially dangerous situation, the more we can do to help reduce risk.
