SECURITY OFFICER

Starting Salary is $39,520

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and valid Driver’s License. 18 years old. Clear

Criminal history. 3 years of general work experience with at least one year in law enforcement or security.

Under general supervision performs the duties of a Security Officer. Participates as instructed in specialized unit activities such as crime prevention, re-certification, instructing criminal investigations or special events.

Performs Access control functions, including checking identification at building entrances and locking and unlocking buildings

Performs vehicle escorts.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security License

MASTER POLICE OFFICER

DETECTIVE SERGEANT

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and valid Driver’s License. 21 years old. US Citizen. Clear Criminal history.
  • Five years of experience in law enforcement with at least two years in investigations.
  • Must have previous experience and/or training in situations involving sexual assault and discrimination (including religious, racial, and sexual orientation).
  • Knowledge of: court system; modern police practices; crime investigation methods; presentation of physical evidence; principles and practices of police supervision; DPS regulations, policies, and procedures; and University policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to: conduct interviews and investigate complex cases; testify in grand juries, hearings, and trials; and prepare affidavits, warrants, and investigative reports.
  • experience and/or certified training as an investigator to include Crime Scene and Death Investigations, evidence/property collection and preservation, interview/interrogation, latent fingerprint collection, and overt/covert electronic surveillance techniques. NCIC certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a Consortium of University Public Safety Institute or have previously completed the equivalent.
  • Must successfully obtain and maintain a Special Police Officer’s Commission

LIEUTENANT

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience related to public safety, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
